Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
- Grab your current read
- Open to a random page
- Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
- BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
- Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
After a few drinks had loosened him up he would sometimes describe his wife as being a few pages short of the full script, but Eileen’s story, which he dismissed so casually, had somehow lodged itself deep inside Arthur. He could not help wondering if those pages had ever been there in the first place or if they had been slowly torn out, one by one, by Terry’s drinking and violence and casual infidelities.
pg. 172 of Mr. Toppit by Charles Elton.
PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT with either the link to your own Teaser Tuesdays post, or share your 2 ‘teasers’ in a comment here (if you don’t have a blog). Thanks!
Excellent teaser! I have an ARC of this one that I really need to get to soon. Sounds good – hope you’re enjoying it.

I really am–I hope you do too!
Wow, I like the descriptions and how the man’s behavior is like tearing pages out of the script….
Here’s mine:

Elton has a good eye for things like this.

It really is–I’m enjoying it so far!
Ooh interesting teaser! Definitely literary. Nice one, and thanks for visiting mine!
Thanks so much!
Ooh, I look forward to your review of this! I keep coming across copies in charity shops, and the covers really appeals to me. But as I knew nothing about it and didn’t want to pick it up based on the cover alone, I’ve been leaving it behind. Sounds like your review might change that 😛
