The Sunday Salon: Digital Garage Sale

Whenever I move, I come to the horrifying conclusion that I have too much stuff and need to shed the excess immediately. It’s like a punch in the gut. To that end, I’m taking a page from my fellow Dragon*Con attendees and selling that stuff online in what I’m calling a digital garage sale. There will be no bookish thoughts today—just highlighting some of the books I’m selling, because I’m sure you’ve already concluded that it’s almost entirely books.

Because I’m a new seller on eBay, I’m not allowed to list any more books until next month, which is lame. But I’ll tell you what other books will be going up in exactly thirty days—The Pursuit of Happyness, Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, Ned Kelly, Seabiscuit, Timeline, The Once and Future King, Outfoxed, Shades of Simon Gray, Legacy, The Firm, A String in the Harp, Beloved, and The Bluest Eye. And I photographed them and everything! Whine.

But I do have plenty of books up for sale, including cast-offs from my The Lord of the Rings collection—specifically, mass market paperback copies of The Two Towers and The Return of the King from 1973 and a copy of The Return of the King from 1999. I’ve also got Boots and the Seven Leaguers by Jane Yolen, if you want to get acquainted with Yolen. And if you’re interested in picking up some manga, I’ve got bundles of the first few volumes of Trigun, Yu-Gi-Oh! Duelist, and Yu Yu Hakusho up for grabs! Plus, there’s more I didn’t list here (and the unlisted items above). I’ll probably make an announcement when the other ones go up, but not as big as this.

Each item starts off at 99 cents plus shipping (usually under three bucks except for the Yu-Gi-Oh! Duelist bundle). I hope there’s something you like in there!

This week has been interesting. I moved back from school on Tuesday, having taken my last exam on Monday. I started running on Wednesday, which I’ll be doing all summer—I’m discovering new muscles in my feet! I’ve decided to give up on any hope of continuing The Hero with a Thousand Faces; I’ll just start it over when it comes in at the library. I have, however, read Science Fiction: The Illustrated Encyclopedia and Batman: Holy Terror (which I’m featuring on The Literary Horizon on Tuesday—shush, don’t tell anybody! The review will go up in late June). At the moment, I’m reading Fans, Bloggers, and Gamers, while Lost in the Meritocracy and In Great Waters are on deck.

I’m giving away the Uglies trilogy until the 27th! Allie at Hist-Fic Chick is giving away a copy of The Confessions of Katharine Howard until the 23rd. Suvudu is giving away 50 ARCS of Grant Morrison’s Supergods until the 30th. The Baen Free Library is full of free downloads, including The Shadow of the Lion and On Basilisk Station. Night Shade Books is offering Butcher Bird and Grey as free downloads at the moment. Vertigo Comics is offering free downloads of the first issue of several series, including Fables, The Unwritten, and Y: The Last Man. (And you will go download The Unwritten.) If I’ve missed your giveaway or freebie, drop me a line!

  1. Good luck with the sale! I need to go through my shelves and purge a few things too but haven’t had the heart to do it. The act moving is a huge help I’m sure.
