What books do you have next to your bed right now? How about other places in the house? What are you reading?
I’m actually in the process of cleaning my room (I conquered my closet yesterday!), so the only thing next to my bed is my Nintendo DS and a Tortuga Twins DVD. The bookshelf that houses my personal library is perpendicular to my bed, so that has all my favorites- The Lord of the Rings, Anansi Boys, Middlesex, Wicked, Boneshaker… the list goes on. My library books stay on my desk, when it’s clean, so they don’t get lost between my books and the various colonies my father’s library has settled in the house. Because of my father’s library, I try and keep all my books in my room. I actually just cleared off a shelf in my closet that I can use for books I need to keep but don’t consider part of the personal library (mostly gifts and yearbooks), so my personal library is going to get a lot more organized. Yay!
I also try to keep all my library books together…if only so I am not chasing all over the house when the due date arrives.
I’ve got far too many piles of books on my TBR list. and it just keeps growing.
Ah, but it’s a good thing.
Between being a college student and a love of space, I try and rely on my local library as much as possible.
My books tend to get all thrown in together. Except library books – I do try to keep those separate. Sounds like you’ve got a much more organized system going. That’s great!
My bedside reading
I kind of have to be, going between school and home. Thank you so much!
Great books! I love Wicked. I just bought it for my sister-in-law for her birthday tomorrow and can’t wait for her to read it. 🙂 Thanks for visiting The Crowded Leaf.
Oh, I hope she loves it. It’s so good!
I do my best to keep library books separate, too. Otherwise there would be much more chaos than there already is.
Middlesex is one of my favorites, as well. Though I’m not entirely sure where my copy is right now…
I hope you find it!
I just separated a bunch of borrowed books so they don’t get lost in my personal stacks. After Nineteen Eighty-Four I could use some lighter reading, maybe Wicked. I’ve heard mixed feelings about it so what did you think of Middlesex?
Oh, Wicked is not light at all- don’t let the musical fool you! It’s a meditation on the nature of evil. Middlesex is absolutely amazing– I highly recommend it.
I have to keep borrowed books separate from my own, too- or it just gets too confusing. I have one little stack of books-to-be-read, and another of ones ready to go back to the library. Keeps things tidier!
Same here. It’s just easier!
Lord of the Rings is my absolute favorite of all time. Right now my bedside table reading is a really intriguing crime thriller called, “The Deadfall Project.” Sometimes reading at night can put me to sleep, but this one is so good I can’t get to sleep!
I know it’s time to sleep when I’m too tired to read, heh. I hope you’re enjoying The Deadfall Project!
